Architect | Complex projects shaped by clarity and context

HEIDI ZöLLNER

I am an architect with over three decades of professional practice. I work with clients on complex projects where the criteria are demanding and the response cannot be off-the-shelf.

My approach is grounded in clear communication at every level of a project — from early conversations and briefing through drawings, coordination, and the inevitable stream of emails. Clarity reduces risk, builds trust, and keeps projects moving forward with confidence.

Architecture is a collaborative process. I value diverse project teams and work best in environments where different disciplines and perspectives can contribute properly. Good teamwork does not happen by accident; it requires structure, attention, and shared responsibility.

Every project is shaped by its context — physical, social, and human. I do not apply standard solutions. Each brief, site, and client relationship requires a response developed specifically for it.

My work typically involves projects with multiple constraints — technical, regulatory, spatial, and human. These projects require disciplined thinking, lateral problem-solving, and the ability to hold the overall picture while working through detail.

Many of these projects involve significant regulatory and compliance requirements, where careful coordination and rigorous documentation are essential.

I lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, establishing clear roles, responsibilities, and communication lines early in the process. This allows complexity to be managed deliberately rather than reactively, supporting steady progress from concept through delivery.

Public and people-facing projects are a particular focus of my practice. I am interested in how buildings and spaces are used, how they age, and how they support daily life over time. Design decisions are tested against use, not just intent.

Clients I work best with value clarity, collaboration, and considered responses to challenging briefs. They are often navigating complex conditions and are looking for an architect who can think clearly, communicate directly, and guide a project with steadiness.

If you are working on a project that requires careful thought, strong coordination, and a response shaped by its specific context, we should talk.
